I'm not sure how many people scroll down far enough on the main page to notice messages posted on the message board, and by the looks of the posting frequency I'm guessing it's not that many of you. However, I am hopeful that at least a few people may notice a new post within the next week or so.
I'm pleased to announce that Meeple League (http://www.new.meepleleague.com/) has decided to add Brass as an event to their online gaming tournaments and named me as their event commissioner. If you are interested in participating, the link to do so can be found here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSepZKBUUC98dFw4KoEHLyC-klRn82F8FMBaEHVjNSXSqu8s-g/viewform
A little bit about the event and Meeple League in general...
You will be placed in a division with (hopefully) 6 other people and play four games simultaneously / asynchronously. We typically set up initial divisions based first upon WBC laurels earned, as Meeple League was born out of the BPA organization, and then based on site rating. If enough people sign up, the divisions branch out to larger and larger groups the farther down the ladder you go. For instance, there is typically one Division 1 consisting of 7 players; two Division 2s each consisting of 7 players (14 total); four Division 3s consisting of 7 players each (28 total), etc. That's the goal, of course... it is still dependent on player turnout, so there may be some divisions near the bottom of the ladder that may only have 6 people in them in order to make the numbers work. Winning a division promotes you to the next division up, while finishing 6th or 7th typically relegates you down to the next division below... there is occasionally a lucky promotion or two if a player decides to withdraw from the next season, but that's the general format of things. We do the best we can with it. :) Winning Division 1 makes you the Grand-Poombah of online Brass that season and unlimited bragging rights.
As far as game rules, we will be running the league using the original, printed rules of the game (no Modified Coal rules or canal links to Scotland).
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at email@example.com.
Looking forward to seeing some of you on the battlefield of Lancashire!
