I've posted a 2-3 player Yorkshire map on BGG, here: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/filepage/103553/yorkshire-brass-for-2-3-players
Since we've got the worlds' best players here (much better than those found in my living room), I would very much appreciate any feedback from the community. The map is an attempt to match the historical industries and canal routes while trying to maintain a similar proportion of spaces as the Lancashire map. But there's only so much one can learn by Googling history...

I hope to find people to try it with. I wonder if the canal connections as a whole aren't too constrained.

What would it take to implement that map here? I'd be willing to help or even do most of the work to integrate it.

I would certainly be grateful for play testing here. It's hard to log many games at home against skilled players, and solo testing suffers from knowing who holds what.

I see your point on the scarcity of canals. I used the historical canals, which of course weren't used to establish building adjacency. If one considers the canals on the map to be possible routes only, then more are justified. Leeds to Wakefield and Bradford to Halifax look quite reasonable on the map. On the other hand, if you're building a canal just to connect your network, you could just double build instead.
