We currently have volunteers translating into French, Spanish and Portuguese, but not German. I checked and noticed that that some people have set their preferred language to German. Is anybody willing to do some translating into German? There's no minimum commitment.
For that matter, if there is another language you would like to translate into, just mention it.

Hi Landice, it would be great if you can do some translating for us.
I have added you as a translator, so you should be able to access the translation interface. You will see a link to it at the top of most pages, alongside the links that are usually there. I have also added Chinese as a selectable language. Could you go to the "Languages" drop-down list in your User Details page and check that I have entered the appropriate name in Chinese for "Chinese"? I got it off an internet translation site. If it's not correct can you let me know what it should say instead.
On the matter of what to start off with, if you go to the translation interface you will find that a number of parts of the site have been prepared for translators. It is just a matter of using the interface to translate individual phrases. Do as much or as little as you like.
When you translate phrases, they don't appear on the site immediately, I have to approve them first. If I'm being slow to check the translation interface for things to approve, you can bug me by posting on this board or by sending me an email.

Hi Hammerite, I've translated one phase in usersgames.php. However, the reslut is like this:
Translation by you:
I guess this is because this site doesn't support Chinese character，can this be fixed?

I have approved the translation, and found that it does appear as legitimate Chinese text on the site (albeit it's a series of HTML character entities, if you look at the page's source). I am not sure why it gets turned into character entities as it goes through the translation interface. I will try to work out why that happens. In the meantime you can continue translating, but you might find it hard to review your work since it will appear as meaningless numbers rather than Chinese!

Yes, i've seen those character on my interface now.
However, a new problem has just occoured.
When i was trying to translate the first phrase for userdetails.php,
since the phrase is quite long, I entered about 80 texts, then this is what happen:
Your translation is too long. Maximum 500 characters. Here is the translation you typed:
在轮到我的回合时用邮件通知我 （如果开启，那你会在轮到你行动时收到邮件通知; 同样，在发生重要事件时，你也会收到通知, 比如有人发起将当前玩家移除游戏的投票时)
One text was turned into 8 characters, therefore, this about 640 characters in total.

You can try it again - I changed the limit to 750 characters.

Sorry I took a while to respond. It would be most welcome for you to help out with the German translation.

I'd also be happy to work on the German for you, if you'll add me as a translator.

You will probably find the interface simple enough. Find the link at the top of the page, select a page which isn't fully translated yet, translate things. Translated things don't appear on the site immediately, I have to approve them first. It isn't necessary to translate something that someone else has already translated, unless you think it could be improved (in this case you might make a thread in this board, as well).

Thanks for all the work you have put into the translation effort, guys. I just went in and approved several dozen phrases. I'll have to start putting other pages' text into the translation interface so that you don't run out of work to do!

I would be happy to do the Swedish translation if you like Phil.
