When I play Brass, we mark off the bottom 8 cards in the Rail Age, and loudly announce "this is the last turn to take a loan" when we hit the marker. When anyone plays Brass, they can see when the deck is empty and they will no longer be getting new cards. A line somewhere saying how many cards are left in the deck would be very useful. Perhaps a good place would be where the round is mentioned: Canal Phase - Round 5 of 8. Purple (gisle) to move. Deck is empty! Canal Phase - Round 2 of 8. Red (Morganza) to move. 24 cards in deck. Rail Phase - Round 4 of 8. Yellow (David) to move. 8 cards in deck. Last round to take a loan (Irrelevant side note: we played a 3p game last night where one player got all of the Manchester cards in the canal age, and was the only one to build there... very annoying.)

You will be pleased to know that Hammerite does a nice job of warning you that "This is the last round to take a loan." The warning is in big red letters. Adding how many cards are left in the deck is a nice idea as well.

Ah, that's good to hear -- I hadn't played that far yet...
